We all have wonderful ideas that we want to share with the world.

Think about it would you take a path that you don’t know will work and have to deliver value to others in hope that people like what you have and buy from you? No one would take that risk unless they had a dream to be something bigger than what they are now.

But in the back of our minds, we all know that as entrepreneurs we need a certain amount of people coming through the door for us to keep putting food on the table for our family, and to continue to stay in business.

This is when the horrifying word oversaturation can lead to you being drowned by so many other competitors doing exactly what you do.

Which over time leads you to being forgotten more and more, and we all know what happens when a business is failing, they cut their prices, fire staff, sell things off and shrink down, this is an awful thing to go through since we all know this hurts you and your business.

A social experiment was done in a shop, and what they did was put a huge amount of jams on the shelves, but they were all from different companies.

What they found shocking was that the customers would look around for long periods, then give up and not buy one.

Why is this you ask? It all comes down to options, when a customer is bombarded with too many options we end up not knowing who to go for.

This is why you have probably sat back in your seat at a restaurant and said “There are so many meals to choose from, I’m not sure what to pick” as nice as it is at a restaurant, to be oversaturated in business it’s no laughing matter.

Here is the video of the jam test if you are interested.

So what can I do to sand out?

I know what you’re thinking, Adventago I can’t spend more on advertising, and I can’t just tear down the competition!

Fear not, what I’m going to suggest is a lot easier, and it’s using the power of emotions.

Here is an example, remember how people would wait for days in tents for the next iPhone?

Why do people do that? It’s because they feel something when they get their hands on the fresh new iPhone.

It makes them feel happy, proud, cool, and wealthy, all these emotions are so strong that no objection or obstacle will get in their way, but if you strip it down, the iPhone is just a hunk of plastic, metal, and coding.

The amazing thing is that Steve Jobs was able to sell the iPhone in such a way that he was able to influence others to be moved by him, and that’s what made people take out their wallets and shout TAKE MY MONEY!

But that’s not all, they also stood for something, this was the pillar of Apple, since they weren’t the only company that could sell phones, however, Apple was the only one that showed they aren’t just a phone company.

This is what Steve Jobs said Apple stands for, or as he likes to call it “Apple’s core”.

In summary, you can see what Steve Jobs is trying to do, he is splitting himself from the competition so he can stand proud on the shelf of all the other companies, and as we all know this worked amazingly well for him.

In your business I want you to think about what is it that you stand for? If you are a makeup company don’t just say you do makeup, stand tall, and make your audience feel happy while shouting out, we are the key to unlocking your most beautiful self!

WRAPPING THIS UP

I am Adventago I want my fellow entrepreneurs to feel proud, happy, and united, I am not a blogger, I am a huge cloud full of valuable information that I am happy to rain down to others so they can learn, grow, and conquer in their business and life! You see what I just did there 🙂

Here is a video made by Dan Lok that talks about using emotion to be a champion at selling.
