What type of relationship do you want, and who with?
Maybe you want a strong marriage, best friend, the best customer, or business partner.
I’m not you so, I don’t know who you want in your life, but what I do know is that you are here to find easy, effective, and proven ways to get people to quickly and happily connect with you.
As an entrepreneur, this is extremely important, because your image is everything, and you only have one shot to make a good first impression.
Before you lose people, obviously, you could try and make a second impression, but we all know you’re going to have to do twice the work to convince everyone who you truly are.
Imagine failing on your first date, job interview, wedding speech, or the worst of all in front of everyone at a public speaking event.
These events can be redone, but do you really think, you or anyone else is going to have a good perception of you? This is why you want to continue reading and get it right the first time.
WHAT’S THE SECRET?
Firstly, it’s not that much of a secret, in fact, you do it yourself all the time, but you don’t realize, it when you’re trying to convince someone, or you’re trying to know a person better, what word do you use differently?
YOU
That’s right you use the word “you”, however, have you ever wondered why you get rejected for certain things?
It’s because the other person didn’t see what was in it for them, I’m not saying anyone is selfish, but we humans have this little voice in our head when it comes to making transactions of any shape or size.
WHAT’S IN IT FOR ME?
If you can answer this question correctly then you are right on your way to getting the outcome you desire, the only catch is that you have to discover what they are interested in, to do this you would have to find their pain points, but I’ll go deeper into that on another blog.
All you have to do is stop using the word “I “, a good way to measure this is when you first meet someone.
Do you only talk about what you like, or do you try and find things that you are both interested in?
This is a seriously powerful tactic, in a world where everyone seems to be extremely very self-centered, to be able to have someone stop and ask what they’re interested in will shock and open their heart to you.
But what if I don’t like what they’re interested in?
This is a very good question, most people try and go for too much harmony which comes from the fear of having nothing in common.
However, if you were to say, “Yeah I love that too”, to absolutely everything, then the other person is going to start thinking you’re lying and aren’t genuine.
Don’t be scared, there is no shame in having differences, in fact, these can make your relationship even stronger, since you can have friendly debates, and understand each other’s interests at a deeper level.
IN SUMMARY
A huge disclaimer please don’t try and be liked by everyone, there are going to be people in your life that aren’t going to like you.
However, don’t let this stop you from trying to build rapport with others by asking what they like, and wrapping the conversation around the topics they enjoy, however, make sure to add your topics here and there too.
Lastly, make sure to add what the other person would benefit from if they did business with you.
