You also recognize that things have changed, and having that degree, certificate or diploma is probably not going to get you to where you want to go, if having a degree, certificate or diploma was the key to success.

1. Copywriting

Copywriting involves writing emails, landing pages, order pages, descriptions, commerce sites, Facebook ads, and all these ads that you see on the internet.

This is done by the ability to use your written words to persuade and convince people to buy.

Now, why is this a valuable skill to develop?

Because all the companies out there, anyone that’s marketing online or anyone that’s selling anything needs copywriters, this skill will always be in high demand (If you’re good).

To master the skill of copywriting means that you have to have the ability to understand people, to understand human psychology, to understand language, and to understand how you get people to take an action.

2. Closing

Closing is the ability to convince or to persuade someone in person or on the phone to buy from you.

It’s very simple, however, the challenge is most people have a negative association with the word sales, they think that sales is a bad thing.

There are a lot of negative feelings towards sales or closing, but in life, if you don’t know how to communicate then it’s going to be very difficult for you to get anything, or, to get ahead in life, also closing is not taught in school there’s no closing 101.

When it comes to closing the key is not to only close for low ticket items, for example, things that are $100 or $200.

If you want to be successful and earn more money in your life you should focus on high ticket closing.

For example, things that are thousands of dollars or tens of thousands of dollars, because your commission from that will be much greater, compared to closing little ticket deals.

3. Consulting

Because of the complexities and since there are so many changes that are happening in the business world, companies need guidance and advice, and this is why they need consultants.

I’m talking about social media consultants, management consultants, leadership consulting, sales consultants, or tech consultants.

There are so many areas where a business needs consultants, so consulting is a very valuable skill to develop.

The great thing about being a consultant is you don’t need a lot of clients to make a great living.

If you’re charging a retainer, this means you’re charging a monthly fee to consult with a client, and if you’re also charging high ticket.

You only need in some cases a couple of clients to make a solid 6 figure income, so consulting is definitely one of those very valuable skills that you want to look at in this skill economy.

4. Coding Or Software

With so many tech companies, software’s and apps, the marketplace is hungry for good coders.

When it comes to coding it is better if you start early to learn how to code, if you’re an old dog it’s not so easy but, for young people, it is an area that will always be hot in demand.

5. Funnel Building

I’m not talking about just building a typical website, I’m talking about building a sales funnel, it could be a webinar funnel, landing page, lead magnet, survey funnel, or any other kind of funnel, the point is.

There’s a huge market out there for people looking for funnels, this means you’re looking for a way to take customers (A.K.A traffic) and convert that traffic on the internet into sales.

If you can help someone to do this, then you could earn a lot of money, and be very successful.

Again, companies out there are constantly looking for ways to increase sales, and if you have the ability to provide this service then you can become a very valuable person, with funnel building there are some requirements you need.

Such as being a good copywriter, you have to have some copywriting skills, maybe you have to have some designing skills, because there are different elements on a funnel, so if you think about this particular skill set or other skill sets in some cases.

You start to release that it is a skill within a skill, you need to develop different skill sets in combination to be able to perform this skill set.

6. Public Speaking

I’m fortunate that at a young age I watched a tonne of Toastmaster videos, which is a non-profit speaking club that helps you home and develop your public speaking skills and, guide you to finally being able to speak to a large group confidently.

And, since most people (Even you reading this blog post), are afraid to present and speak to groups.

This is the reason why public speaking is so valuable, since companies and organizations are always looking for speakers, and are willing to pay a high premium for good speakers.

Public speaking is a great skill, however, it’s not easy to develop since most people are afraid of rejection and public embarrassment but, if you could overcome that then, you have an extremely valuable expertise.

7. Chatbot Marketing

What is a chatbot? If you think about emails, we have what is called an autoresponder, meaning it’s a series of emails pre-written in a sequential manner.

When you opt into something, for example, when you’re on a website and you give your name and email address to get more information.

In a period of time, you will get these automated messages from the vendor or from the business.

A chatbot is the same thing but for private messages, and there’s a huge demand out there for these chatbot marketing skills.

This is a no-brainer, I’m talking about social media, anyone with good digital marketing skills will always be in demand.

Now with digital marketing, it’s a skill within a skill, so in order to be a successful digital marketer, you need a variety of skills.

It could be copywriting, designing, or maybe a little bit of coding, and if you’re working with clients then you need the ability to close, so you can get those clients who are willing to pay you on a monthly retainer, or for big projects.
