2020 was a crazy year especially due to Covid-19, but a lot of things have changed, from algorithms to people going after companies like Facebook for violating privacy laws.
To Adobe releasing survey data in July that found 48% of consumers are using voice for “General web searches.”
But 2020 is over, what’s going to happen in 2021?
Well, you’ve come to the right place my name is Adventago and I’m going to break down the 7 top digital marketing trends that will change in 2021 and the future.

In essence, it’s pushed all these businesses online and has made it super competitive, nowadays everyone is leveraging digital marketing.
But how do you get a leg up on the competition and win in 2021? Well, the first trend I have for you is…

1. Page Speed.
It’s going to be more important than ever, I know 5 G. is coming out, but look around, how many areas may have 5 G or 4 G. connection but still take a long time for a website to load.
Just because your connection is fast doesn’t mean the website loads fast, and it doesn’t mean you’re in an area where the reception gives you that high speed.
We’re not there yet, and for that reason, you need to make sure that your website loads super-fast.
Not only does it increase conversions, but it also increases your traffic, rankings, and greatly reduces bounce rate, if you have a website you need to make sure it’s optimized and super-fast.
1 little trick can do is load your nonstatic files from CDNs, also known as content delivery networks.
Most people already use them, however, they’re only using CDNs for static images and static text, you should also use CDN’s for your nonstatic files too.
Putting your nonstatic things on a CDN and can boost your load time, and increase your SEO rankings, website traffic, and conversions.
Some website owners have seen serious conversion increases, you may see a higher conversion increase, but that’s probably due to your website having tons of traffic but being really slow in the first place.
2. Content-Length Won’t Matter As Much.
I’m talking about text-based content, everyone used to talk about how the hack to ranking on the top page of Google was by having 2000 plus words.
Do you seriously think Google wants to show you a 2000-word essay on how to throw a ball in baseball? Let’s be honest they don’t, why?
Because you as a user don’t want to see 2000 words essay on how to throw a ball in baseball.
You want to see an image, animated gif, or video, that breaks down how to throw a ball in baseball as quick as possible, so you can get on with your day.
That’s what used to happen with a lot of text articles, everyone used to create content based on the length, how many times the keyword was said, and all these other hacks and fads.
However, those days are over, text-based content length doesn’t matter as much, it’s the quality, and Google is using more user signals.
But here’s the kicker, in 2021 I want you to make your audio length and your video length longer.
It’s shown that audio and videos that are over 10 minutes perform better than shorter versions that are only 3, 4, or 5 minutes.
On the other hand, if you make your audio and video length 20, 30, or more minutes, it doesn’t have as much of an impact compared to having it 10 minutes.
Anything around 10 minutes or more is good enough, if you need to make it 30 minutes you can.
Going less than 10 minutes like 2, 3, or 4 minutes is hurting your reach when it comes to video and audio-based content.
3. There Is No Holy Grail.
As I mentioned earlier there is no holy grail of internet marketing, since it’s super competitive.
This means one hack, or silver bullet will not get you to the success you’re looking for, it’s about getting those tiny marginal gains.
There’s this legendary internet marketer called Russell Brunson, he owns a company called Click Funnels and their slogan is “You’re just one funnel away”.
The theory behind this was that if you wanted to change your life, and the customers you love.
You’re not going to get there by running tons of ads, having the nicest looking funnel, or how expensive your product is, since everyone already does that.
But it’s a lot of the little things that no one’s doing that can give you a leg up on your competition.
If you don’t know how to story tell, build rapport, inject emotion, read your customer’s mind, build relationships with other influencers, and create a mass movement.
You’re probably not going to sell a lot of your products, all these little things add up.
The same goes for your marketing, are using voice search? If you are, have you used Jetson AI to make sure your site is compatible with voice devices so people can buy?
You’re already getting traffic from voice search, you probably don’t realize it, but are you getting conversions from it?
As you can see these aren’t major swings in your marketing, but these are little marginal gains that can give you a leg up on your competition.
4. How High You Rank Will Matter More Than Ever.
If you look at older data it shows that if you rank at the top of Google, you’re going to get more clicks than if you rank 2, 3, 4, or, 5.
But what I believe is going to happen with Google taking up more and more listings because they need to hit curling earnings numbers, and they’re making all these changes to algorithms.
And sometimes the changes they make may affect paid ads, or it may not, but they’ve got to figure out more ways to monetize if they want to keep growing their cash flow.
Whether that’s them showing you travel tickets that you can buy right on Google, showing you the weather, or having calculators and mortgage rates, they’ve been making these changes over the years.
But what you’ll see in 2021 in my prediction is that they’re going to be much more aggressive on this, that way they can hit bigger numbers.
And if you want to rank well on Google and get that sweet SEO traffic, which you still can since SEO is not dead.
It’s just that now, you need to go after those top spots because they’re going to matter more than ever.
5. Repurposing And Updating Content Will Be The Norm.
Everyone talks about creating new content, according to growthbadger. com there are 600 million blogs in the world today, out of over 1.7 billion websites, and according to omnicoreagency. com there are 31 million YouTube channels.
Everyone’s already on platforms like Clubhouse (If you’re not you can try it out), people are already using all of these channels and creating content in many different places.
But are you repurposing? With the 31 million blogs there’s enough information out there, you can take that existing information you’ve already created and repurpose it.
You can take your text-based content make it video, and audio, use the same information, create a room on clubhouse and talk about it.
When you’re creating content go super in-depth, I don’t want you to stop with just video, also look at audio.
Podcasting is booming right now, but there are not that many podcasts compared to blogs out there.
Don’t worry about duplicate content none of these platforms are penalizing you for duplicate content.
Also, I want you to update more frequently than you release new content, it’s an easier way to get more traffic, for example, I did an update on my old videos and blog content.
There’s a lot of topics that have been overly talked about, but no one’s updating the same ones over and over again, so they’re fresh and relevant.
Most people are focused on creating new content, as you can see this everywhere you go on the internet versus them trying to update.
6. Backlinks Won’t Matter As Much.
With user signals coming into play, does it really matter if a site has 1,000,000 backlinks or 2,000,000 backlinks?
Not really, what matters to uses is if a site is more relevant, and that’s what search engines are optimizing for, and that’s what you need to aim for.
Make your content more relevant, and make the user experience better, it’s not about links it’s about the experience.
And the funny thing about this is that it’s shown if you build too many links too quickly it can actually hurt your rankings.
7. Brands Will Have More Power Than Ever.
It’s not just Google, with Facebook, clubhouse, or whatever platform you’re going to go on, if you have a brand, it’s easier to get followers, impressions, and sales.
There’s so much fake news and corruption, with people saying whatever they want online, that if you have a brand, you’re much more likely to do better in the long run.
Make sure you focus on building your brand because people, search engines, social platforms, all trust brands, and you’ll see more conversions as well.
Think about the rule of 7, how can you interact with someone 7 times? It could be email, messenger, social media, or push notifications.
All that stuff helps you reach and connect with more people which creates more loyal followers for your business or personal brand.
